UFC Fight Night. Mexico City

What a night of fights in Mexico City the main card was booming even without the Raul Rosas Jr. fight.

Rosas fell I’ll day of fight, that ended up pulling the bout last minute, with very short notice to the fans.

Opening up the main card was Manuel Torres vs. Chris Duncan. A very grapple heavy match for how short it lasted. Torres took the submission victory early in the first round.

Next up was Yazmin Jauregui vs. Sam Hughes. Jauregui took the unanimous decision W but what a entertaining fight both those ladies showed up an chucked knuckles for 15 minutes straight, every penny they made was 100 percent deserved.

Daniel Zellhuber vs. Francisco Prado, what a fight, Zellhuber showed up for war. Unfortunately for Prado he was too tough for his own good. By the end of the second round, Prado’s eyes were both almost completely swollen closed, you can hear his coach in between the 2nd and 3rd round say to Prado “you don’t need your eyes” after Prado told his coach he can’t see, Prado somehow passed the doctors test an came back out for the 3rd, where Zellhuber continued to do what he was doing, an by doing so Zellhuber picked up the unanimous decision.

Next up, Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian T-city Ortega. Man…. What a fight, what a rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish, starting off during Bruce’s intros T city jumps up, rolls his ankle, pretty badly too, you could see the fear in his face when he did it. The first round started an T city came out very flat footed, I believe that was just a result of rolling the ankle, an this resulted in him getting clipped THREE times in the first 2-1/2 minutes of the fight, but T city is a dog and your gonna have to kill that man to finish him, he finished the round with a takedown and ended up on top of Yair, picking up some control time. Round 2 started and Yair had a moment, but the majority of the round was T city’s round taking Yair down, controlling him an landing some hard shots on the ground mixing up his strikes. I believe towards the end of the second, T city had almost 3 minutes of control time in the second.

Round 3 starts, and you can see t city is fired up, pumping up the crowd determined to get things going again, they engage in grappling almost right away. T city ends up on top and he has his hand behind the head, and you can see he’s setting something up, and with that he locks up Yairs arm up next to his head and pops off to the side an the head and arm choke was locked in solid, resulting in Yair tapping an T city getting his first submission victory in over 4 years.

Main event time! The battle of the Brandon’s, Brandon Moreno vs. Brandon Royval. This was a high pace fight that was extremely back and forth with both men having there moments, Moreno had 3 takedowns over 5 rounds and racked up almost 3 minutes of control compared to Royvals 1 takedown and less then a minute of control, but Royval had more output the what Moreno did, Royval out striking Moreno 177-119, overall Royval winning via split decision.
